I am an Accredited Adlerian Counsellor & Psychotherapist, with the IACP and BACP.  The Adlerian approach is centred on encouragement, cooperation, and the promotion of a healthy work/life balance.

I have further training in the following modalities:

Emotionally Focused Therapy

EFT is based on Attachment Theory, which suggests that humans are hardwired for strong emotional bonds in relationships.  Problems can arise when couples experience emotional disconnection, leading to cycles of struggle within the relationship.  EFT can provide nurturing support to allow partners to begin to feel connected and safe through re-establishing secure attachment.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP uses perceptual, behavioural and communication techniques.  It can help us to better understand the way our brain (neuro), processes the words we use (linguistic), and understand how that may affect our past, present and future (programming).  NLP can allow insight into how our thinking patterns can affect every aspect of our lives.

Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT)

SFBT is a short-term goal focussed therapeutic approach.  It helps clients change by constructing solutions, rather than focussing on problems.  It places focus on present and future circumstances, rather than past experiences.  SFBT aims to motivate and empower clients who require intervention in a specific area.

I have training in several other approaches and use a variety of skills, depending on the needs of the client.  I will endeavour to meet the client’s needs throughout therapy, and consistently have their best interests at heart as we work together.

I am a member of the following associations and adhere to their strict code of ethics at all times.

British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy

Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy

Adlerian Society & Institute of Individual Psychology

The Psychologists Protection Society
